Wonderfully written! Thank you, Alexa.
Laughter is truly beautiful music to the ears that hear and "medicine" to tired, but open hearts and souls. My father had similar responses to 'noise' as yours, regardless the emotions creating the noise. Like you, however, I strive to consciously choose to focus and LOVE "what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. " (Phil 4:8, NLT). It brings ME up to the place in which I am my best, for Him, for my family and for myself.
Blessings and MANY giggles, Linda

I have a very clear memory of this same kind of thing. My cousin and I were giggling up a storm. My uncle got really mad at us and told us to stop. YES, we were at the dinner table but the more he told us to stop, the harder we laughed. He finally made us go sit outside and I often wondered what he would have done had we been fighting. It made no sense to me at the time and now, 40 years later, it still makes no sense. Thank you for stirring up my memory bank this morning.

I like this post.
